Corporate Social Responsibility

At Ducab, we recognize the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and strive to incorporate all of its fundamental principles into our business practices; philanthropy, good governance, environment and local community engagement

We remain committed to creating and maintaining a work environment that adheres to international health and safety regulations whilst at the same time doing our part to protect and preserve our local environment. We also work hand in hand with the local community to promote good business practices and standards, from raising internal awareness about health issues to creating work experience opportunities for young people in the Gulf.

PHILANTHROPY

We believe that we can all make a difference in the world – especially when we work together as a company. On a continuous basis we do something to help others locally and overseas. Some of our initiatives include sending building wire to Gaza following the war and regularly organizing blood donation drives in support of the UAE’s Thalaessemia Free Campaign. We recently sponsored the newsletter of Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centres that aims to provide high quality, integrated education services and therapies for children with special needs. .

ENVIRONMENT

As avid supporters of environmental preservation, every year our employees take part in the Clean the Earth and Clean up the World campaigns that are organized by Dubai Municipality. In addition, we are a member of the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in Dubai and recycle internal waste as well as scrap. We have also been planting trees on an annual basis around all our factories with the staff members’ initiative. Ducab is also a member of Emirates Green Building Council supporting them in their goals of advancing green building principles, introducing new technologies and protecting the environment to further ensure a safer and sustainable UAE. In terms of our environmental management system we were also the first company in the region to be awarded the ISO 14001 certification.

EMPLOYEE WELFARE

The welfare of our employees is one of our top priorities. We want our employees to enjoy the environment in which they work and live. Ducab provides various facilities for its shop floor employees which includes air conditioned bachelor accommodation, cable TV and internet, a swimming pool, a gym, badminton, volleyball, basketball court, cricket and football pitch as well as table tennis and snooker tables. These facilities are available to all staff members after working hours. In addition, the Ducab Recreation Club (DRC) organizes numerous events throughout the year; the Annual Ducab Cricket Cup, Ducab Football, Competitions and games, the Ducab annual anniversary celebration, as well as regular staff outings that have previously included a Desert Safari and Dhow Cruise.
